BAD NOISE FOR BAD MOTHERFUCK'RS!

WASTELANDER - Wardrive (2008)

Wastelander (Germany) is a great Punk / Hardcore band with Black Metal influense. They've got a boner for Motorhead and a lot of first wave black metal and punk that I don't really know anything about. It seems to be a pretty hard formula to stuff up really; keep the songs short, sharp and heavy. Wastelander do a pretty good job of it, it's not the greatest thing ever but it's extremely enjoyable. Well there's not a huge amount of black metal; the influence is in the vocals but not really anything else. It all sounds raw and energetic, production and overall vibe is delivered brilliantly, the riffs are pretty freaking awesome... Recommend!

RIISTETERROR - Asema Z (2002)

Riistetyt from Finland and Sick Terror from Brazil join forces and form one band, and what an unholy communion it is too. This is the best stuff these Fins have done in years, it's pretty much exactly how you'd imagine if both these two bands met head on - rough and abrasive hardcore from Finland and more metallic breakneck hardcore from Brazil. This is so frantic and urgent and proves why these bands are so highly respected. Lyrics in Portuguese, Finnish and English add to the international flavor, sound is mixing between Scandinavian D-beat Hardcore and Brazilian noise... Great stuff!

R.A.M.B.O. - Bring It! (2005)

R.A.M.B.O.'s is a titanic bulldozer of hardcore moshstrocity. Combining the power of epic swedish hardcore like Wolfbrigade and Disfear with the politics of Crass. RAMBO take on apathy, the system, religion, intolerance and bad dance styles in nineteen tracks. After a quick blast of catchy and melodic tracks like the awesome opener, "The War of Self Esteem", a slower intro sees "Goose Music" drop into a driving, crusty sort of rhythm that leads into the more straightforward and stripped down "Atkins' America", which cranks out a quick rock lead near the end; and then "Wage Slave Mercenaries" uses some dissonant riffing to spice things up over another crusty rhythmic surge.... Full recommend!

PK TRAUMA - Quem Vai Sobreviver (2006)

The PKT is a brasilian band formed in 2002. In 2007 after a stopped time, the band comes back with Diego in the drums, and last year Miel join us in the bass. The sound continues insane and total unprovided of commitment with styles, we always search an expression free, but clearly that our bigger influence still is crust/grindcore politicized, our lyrics express our reality and always search to approach subjects that are not locked in exactly in itself but that they can mainly bring a questioning and a change of attitude. Thanx goes out to Eduardo!

FILTH - Live The Chaos CD (2000)

Formed in the East Bay in 1989, Filth was a crustcore band that would help define the later "East Bay Hardcore" style. The band combined the more upbeat, sometimes poppy guitar styles of Isocracy's Lenny Rokk with harsh screamed vocals, courtesy of Crimpshrine roadie, Jake Sayles. This EP was Filth’ debut, originally released by Lookout in 1990 and 2000 re-issued with many bonus songs. The songs are simple and repetitive in structure, the vocals are screeched; nothing too out of the ordinary. But when Filth does it, it works fucking perfectly. Just go get this now!

DOMESTIK DOKTRIN - Manufakturing Karma (2002)

Amazing Thrashcore/Fastcore from Indonesia. DOMESTIK DOKTRIN play fast and furious thrash with punk & hardcore influence, not unlike the burgeoning scene in the US, Europe and Japan. The band has been around since the late of 2000, but they will never be heard outside of SE Asia unless a label in one of those countries actively seeks them out. Domestik Doktrin are good ones, but there´re tons of other good bands coming from Indonesia, Malaysia or Singapore - so, support the kids down there!

EXIT WOUNDS - 17 Wounds Of Exit (2007)

Go sonic bombardment! Poland's grinding masters Exit Wounds take that extreme sound and adds a small dose of crust and just a tad of gore. This album is perfect to play if you're like myself pissed off at the world and your surroundings as it just provokes the worse feelings in you. It is highly energetic, hammering and with brutal blasts which makes it highly toxic and extreme lethal mixture. It is esp. highly recommended for fans of Insult, Cripple Bastards, Retaliation, Warsore etc. And if that wasn't enough they've also managed to create a booklet with artwork just as dark, stark and sinister as the music, and they present it in a hefty and brutal production.

AMEBIX - The Complete Demos (1978-1986)

Amebix, now recognized as one of the most influential ponderous bands ever, was born in England during the summer of 1978. Life was chaotic from start to finish for Amebix, because they were really living the lifestyle that their lyrics and image portrayed. Guitar player Stig writes on the gatefold of the posthumous album of live and studio recordings "The Power Remains" that "none of us signed off the dole in all the years we were together." Living in squats (abandoned buildings) and other unstable accommodations, eating out of the garbage, scamming and hacking out a living by any means possible, it's amazing that the band were able to amass equipment and practice on a somewhat regular enough basis to last for nine full years. Long Live Amebix!

MISERY - 20 Years of Misery (2009)

Legendary Crust / Punk / Metal band Misery was formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1987. For a city that was known for bands such a The Replacements and Husker Du, this was a whole new take on the Minneapolis sound. Misery brought heavy Crust Punk into a town full of college-friendly bar bands. Misery have announced the release of their 20 Years of Misery compilation as a sliding scale download through Moshpit Tragedy Records. Originally featuring Al Long (NAUSEA) in its ranks, the band has toured the world and released many records including splits with Doom and Extinction of Mankind. HELLBASTARD - The Need To Kill (2009)

Yeah!!! Trash Metal / Crust attack from legend in their own rights - Hellbastard. While Amebix may have been the first to play crust punk music, Hellbastard was the first to coin the term “crust punk” based around the culture of squatting and the gritty subgenre of hardcore punk that reflected this lifestyle. Combining anti-fascist politics with a ferocious new form of punk inspired grinding hardcore music HELLBASTARD emerged from the late 80s punk/metal crossover scene alongside NAPALM DEATH and EXTREME NOISE TERROR. Inspired by the ideals of CRASS and music of SLAYER they were once described by Kerrang magazine as the "poorest band on earth". Full recomend!

CRUDE S.S. - The System You Hate... (1992)

First people took them for nazis but after a while they where known as a political band in the vein of Discharge. Had a lot of member changes until 1984 when the band at last was..a band. This CD compiles all material from the semi-legendary mid ‘80s Swedish foresome including the sought after 'Who'll Survive' 7". No re-union tour, no limited editions, no metal or mosh just honest, political hardcore from an era we are desperately trying to recapture. Fans of Anti-Cimex and Mob 47 know this band well. 20 tracks 40 minutes. Total fucking system released on Systema Records. You ll hear where Entombed and Dismember got their inspiration from All Crude SS songs on one CD.

VENOMOUS CONCEPT - Retroactive Abortion (2004)

Venomous Concept is an extremely fast punk band started by members of Napalm Death, Melvins and Brutal Truth. The name itself is a play on Poison Idea, whose intense, loud hardcore is one of their main influences, together with bands as Discharge and GISM. Their first full length, “Retroactive Abortion,” was recorded in 2003. The bandmates themselves paid for the recording of the album, “that way they record whatever they want, whenever they want… they are uncontrolled by labels… they produce their own music, art and media”

VISIONS OF WAR - Unrealised Demo 1998

VISIONS OF WAR - D-beat machine from Belgium was formed october 96 (it's such a long time ago!) in the flemish part of hellgium (dutch speaking part) with the following line-up : Davy : bass, Filip : drums, Stef : guitar, Steffen : vocals. Shortly afterwards Steve joined the band, after attending a rehearsel and offered to shout a bit with them, as 2nd vocalist, and this 10 demo was recorded in april 98. Lyricwise you may want to call it 'typical crust' but who cares? Songs about war and destruction sadly are still very much up to date. Very good stuff!

SOCIAL INSECURITY / DREAD 101 - Split LP (2003)

Czech well known metallic Crust with 6 new and two re-recorded songs from debut demo. The band started in the spring of 1999 with members of Lies and Distrust. They have 5 great records, but unfortunately the band is no longer active... Fucking well done for sure! Social Insecurity is Scotish Crust / Punk with Beergut 100 and Happy Spastics members. Musically it is somewhere between swedish and british ´82 school" Great material too... LP was released in collaberation with Insane Society & Spearhead Records. Great Stuff! Contrast Attitude is a raw and noisy D-beat Crust band from Japan. They are formed in '98, they released a 7" (the one i'm posting), a 12" split with Acrostix and they have taken part in various compilations. They are heavily influenced by the Japanese and Swedish raw d-beat bands, mixed with some discharge style raw anger with a really high production. They say they are influenced by bands like Discharge, Disclose, Broken Bones, Disaster, Shit Lickers... So, if you like...

WARVICTIMS - D-Beat Destruction 7" (2007)

WARVICTIMS play Punk - Hardcore in the raw D-beat style of classic Swedish bands such as ANTI-CIMEX, MOB 47, etc. The Warvictims is a relatively new band... This EP (released 2007) is exemplary of their dedication to the preservation and homage to this style: with five tracks of traditional Swedish "Kang" including a cover of ANTI-CIMEX's "When the Innocent Die." Lyrics are as much about politics as well as the self-destructive punk rock lifestyle. The cover art is provided by Steve from VISIONS OF WAR and perfectly rounds out this punk-to-the-fuckin-bone record! Full recommend!!!

DISCORD - Presence (2006)

Hardcore band formed in Belgrade (Serbia) in 1997. They are all got together from different bands like: Dead Silence, Voice of Minority and Eyesburn with a new idea and a need to overcome this madness. In June '97 Discord recorded an EP "This Melting Nation", and played with many bands (Eyesburn, Sunshine, Pro-Pain, Hitman, Thimble, Yobo...) where it was possible. Untill the changes in the country Discord was banned to play almost anywhere. After four years band have recorded a new material called "Presence" at the same studio, played at "Exit" festival 2004, with Last Hope (Sofia) and 25 Ta Life (NY), later on with Agnostic Front and Madball...good material.

SUFFERING BASTARD - Self Released CD (2007)

Twin bass grindcore distortion from Pawtucket, Massachusetts. Suffering Bastard have released a couple of demos and splits with noise bands like Cock ESP and Twodeadsluts Onegoodfuck, but this self released EP is the only official CD release from this pulverizing noise-damaged grindcore outfit. Suffering Bastard are notable for not having a guitarist, and instead go for a maximal low-end assault with two bass guitars playing super-downtuned bottom heavy sludge riffs, primitive three-chord punk and acidic walls of bone-rattling blurr noise over massive rhythmic pummel that switches between fast thrash, chaotic blastbeats and ridiculously slow passages of Corrupted like sludgemetal. Recommend!

WOLFPACK - Lycantro Punk (1998)

Beautiful noise! Wolfpack was the former name of the Crust-Punk-D-beat band Wolfbrigade. Wolfpack changed their bandname to Wolfbrigade after a right wing neo-Nazi organization started using the name “Wolfpack”; they did not want to be associated with right wing politics. This is one of Sweden's greatest hardcore groups on an album that will knock you flat on your face! Lycantro Punk is like a more bitter and violent combination of Discharge, Nausea, and Disrupt with a heaping helping of Motorhead. 100% raging Swedish HC that fucking hammers from start to finish. Hail Wolfpack!

EMBRACE TODAY - FxYxIxE (2002)

Embrace Today are an American Straight Edge Hardcore Punk band from Boston, Massachusetts. Based on their 2002 release "FxYxIxE," ExT is perhaps best known for a militant Straight Edge approach during their live shows and for creating a "Fuck You I'm Edge" mentality within the hardcore scene. They are often considered the heir apparent to Syracuse, Straight Edge juggernauts Earth Crisis. Embrace Today was considered one of the hardest working bands of their time having toured non-stop for years. Though the band members support the NRA (National Rifle Association) and many other right wing causes, they have always maintained and apolitical approach to their music.

EDELWEISS PIRATEN - Blizna (2009)

Polish Hardcore Punk band hailing from Olsztyn. Edelweiss Piraten was originally a name of an antifacist group of kids aged 14-18 acting during 2ndWW in Germany. They left schools, Hitler Jugend, fought with nazi but also organized camps, parties with guitars and their own songs. They walked the streets in groups and met with girls which was also illegal... The band firstly played 12 years ago and since then it's been changing styles from straight strong Punk to some D-beat & Crust elements of Punk with male/female vocals. If you like Tragedy, Wolfbrigade, Wolfpack and others bands like this - here you are! :)

SYSTEMATIC OVERTHROW - DIY Demo (2006)

Systematic Overthrow is a female fronted Crust Metal band from Indiana, USA. They're a political anarcho-crust band with female vocals... Formed in 2005, released only one demo and split up in 2006 or 2007, I'm not sure. The guitarist is a real slasher, tons of wailing hooks, and solos, the drums are pummeling, and the vocals are in your face. At the times they remind of a little band you might remember called NAUSEA, and that ain't a bad band to be compared to! When Systematic Overthrow split up some members formed The Utah Spirit Babies and Munashii... This is a pretty sweet demo, so check it out!

JELLO BIAFRA and Guantanamo School of Medicine (2009)

Yeah! Jello Biafra rise again! In the twenty or so years since his brainchild Dead Kennedys officially disbanded, Jello Biafra has made a career of spoken word gigs interspersed with musical collaborations with some of the most compelling figures in underground music. Recording projects with the likes of Melvins, No Means No, DOA, Mojo Nixon and Lard among others have kept his "hardcore as political weapon" message sharp, but the lack of his own band made these collaborations usually short-lived and left Biafra with a ton of songs that had never seen the light of day. The band's sound retains some of the the spy-music-on-meth chaos of the DK's while adding a healthy dose of Detroit style proto-punk mixed with layers of sonic guitar noise.. Full recommend!!!

INSTINCT OF SURVIVAL - North Of Nowhere... (2009)

Instinct Of Survival (Hamburg, Germany) was originally founded back in 1995 as sperrzone and started with typical German rough Punk. After a few years of boozing and playing we kicked menge and decided to continue as a three piece band and we also changes our musical style into Crust-Punk, after a while of playing that Crustpunk they began playing Grindcore in the original way like Napalm Death did on their scum lp. nowadays we play the classical Stenchcore with a lot of 80ies UK Hardcore-Punk influences. NERVOUS SEX - Creep Sea (2009)

I found this on my e-mail... They are a Noise Punk band from Philadelphia. They have been playing for some time now and have release an album and split tape on our own. The band consists of 3 people, two using homemade or modified instruments and samplers, and drums. The songs are structured, so it is not just a noise band, not just a punk band either. I am terrible with descriptions, your best bet is to just listen. The first two songs are on the harsher side, while song 3 and 5 get a little bit 'poppy' or easier to listen to... PS-Thank you for the link guys!
