KAKISTOCRACY - An Apology 7'' (2008)

Kakistocracy is a Anarcho Crust Punk band that formed in 1997. The band originally formed in Bristol, Virginia with guitarist and vocalist Matt Casteel, bassist and vocalist Daniel Serber, and drummer Josh Kelly. The band relocated for a time to Johnson City, Tennessee, eventually having all the members in Asheville, North Carolina by 2008. This record to me sounds like early From Ashes Rise. The lyrics are no doubt political but written from a personal perspective including an adaptation of a poem from Weather Underground member Laura Whitehorn. Three heavy and catchy crust-ified tunes with two chaps trading off on the vocal duties.

SEVERED HEAD OF STATE - Power Hazard EP (2007)

Severed Head of State is a Hardcore / Punk band formed in 1998 with members split between Austin, Texas & Portland, Oregon. Band members play in other bands such as World Burns To Death, J Church, Tragedy, Warcry, Defiance. Their lyrics usually focus on deep detestation of both human nature and the Christian belief system. Their sound ranges from slow melodies to furious thrashcore. Vocalist Jack Control was stabbed in the mid-section late January 2006 with the blow just missing the heart by inches. Full recommended!!! Power Hazard EP/CD was realised in 2007 for Havoc Records.

AVSKUM - Folk Som Har Sanger Kan Inte Do EP (2010)

Avskum is a legendary Swedish D-beat punk band from little town Kristinehamn. Playing classic Swedish hardcore influenced by Discharge, Avskum started in the early 1980s, only to temporarily disband until the mid 1990s where they returned more productive than ever. All original members except the original guitarist perform in the current line-up. They continue to sporadically perform within Europe and in 2004 did a small two-week tour in the United States. Avskum's lyrics generally deal with issues such as nuclear war and capitalism. This is their last EP. Enjoy raw and aggressive scandinavian disbeat!!!

IMPURE WORSHIP - Goathorns (2010)

Primitive black metal from Greece. The band was formed in 2001 under the name Helvete. A demo entitled "To A Forthcoming Dark Age" was recorded in 2002. The band was split up later that year. Now the band has formed again in 2008 with a changed name due to many bands using the old one; the new name of the band is Impure Worship. The first demo named "Goathorns" was unleashed in 2010 on tape format limited to 500 copies with the assistance on vocals of Iapetos of the mighty Unholy Archangel. Following the great response, the band had been offered a deal by Bleak Bone Mortualia records to release an 7" E.P. Expect it to be as christraping and as blasphemous as the demo.

RIVERS RUN DRY - 7'' EP (2008)

RIVERS RUN DRY was formed in Hungary in late 2007. The band became a five-piece handling 3 guitars, bass, vocals, and drums in 2009. RRD released a four song EP and a split record with the austrian band Boredom. Their music is a mixture of everything, so it's hard when it is characterized by a particular route... Influenced by From Ashes Rise, Catharsis, Tragedy, Amebix, Discharge, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, the Spectacle, Zegota and so on... Toured Europe three times and made many shows in Hungary too. Nice stuff!

This is a new band featuring Matt Domino (Infest/ Crossed Out) on guitar, Andy (No Comment) on vocals and Bob (Lack Of Interest) on drums. A fastcore fans dream team, you might say, and they knock it out of the park with 10 songs, only a couple over a minute (and most under 30 seconds). Not too much in the way of power violence (if that was what you were expecting), but just super fast, tight, stop-on-a-dime hardcore with a few breakdowns and mosh parts. You’d be amazed at what they can do in a 14 second song. Great stuff!

ŽENEVSKI DEKRET (Geneve Decree) was a legendary Yugoslavian Trash / Punk band formed in 1983 in Bosnian town Mostar. In 1983rd Mostar lived its apathy, and there was no sign that anything is going to ever change in eternally red Mostar. However, boys were persistent and they soon recorded the first songs. Began to play shows and concerts... By the beginning of the war in former Yugoslavia they released several recordings and appeared on numerous compilations. The war begins… But in 1997 in Sweden city Norrköping something is going happen. There Golub, Habi, Mujic and guitarist Haris will meet. It will be new line up of ZD. After 5 months of practicing they entered the studio and recorded 12 songs, different than earlier material. Finally, here is your chance to hear them... Highly recommended!!

MK-ULTRA - Discography 2x12'' LP (2009)

MK-ULTRA was a Hardcore / Thrash / Punk band from Chicago, formed in 1993. They were known for their fast music and outspokenness on political and social topics ranging from capitalism to Christianity. They finally broke up in 2000, although the band continued donating songs to compilations for some years afterwards. Drummer Ebro Virumbrales also played in well-known hardcore bands Charles Bronson and Los Crudos at the same time as MK-ULTRA. Singer Frank Hanney went on to form Fourteen or Fight and The O.S.S. Jeff Jelen went on to form Punch in the Face, VMW with Mark McCoy on vocals, and American Mosquito with former vocalist Jeff Bachner. After all, you need a recommendation?! :)

Yeah!! Awesome live record from Serbian Crusty Hardcore band OTVORENI PRELOM (eng: OPEN FRACTURE). The idea of the band was formed several years ago, but the combination of circumstances, didn't find adequate people to meet the demands of the band and then all the other stories in the shade. Winter 2008 made the move towards implementation and start functioning band. Open Fracture was approached by Geber and Kočog, bassist and drummer from the band LEPROSY. Further work of the band will soon break open and get a taste of their own, because they don't intend to stop now! Sound quality is a very high level! Total aggression!!! Highly recommended!

LÄRM - Lärm LP (2010)

LÄRM (German for noise) were a Dutch straight edge thrashcore band formed in 1981, first playing under the name of Total Chaoz. Lärm pioneered what would later be called Power Violence, along with bands Heresy and Siege. However, they referred to their music as "extreme noise", though having nothing to do with noise rock or noise music. Due to members being straight edge, which was something uncommon in the Crust Punk scene, Lärm were different from many bands at the time. The group also turned down contracts from record labels like Nuclear Blast, eventually resulting in their break up. Members went on to form Seein Red and the more conventionally straight edge Manliftingbanner. This is their new album that they were pleasantly surprised all of us who love them. The CD contains a lot of old songs, but this is LÄRM! :) Fuck yeah!

Both bands have a large number of split LP's, EP's and CD's with many similar bands! This 7'' has published on Bones Brigade records and it is really worth having... Full recommended!!!

BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA - Good Morning America... EP (2007)

Great American Hardcore / Punk / Thrash band from Austin, Texas. Blunt Force Trauma was formed in 1999 in Austin, Texas. The band's line up consisted of vocalist Bobby Fuentes, guitarist Slaytoven, bassist Bob Paxton, and drummer Ben Burton. The band released two albums with Paxton and Burton, ''Blunt Force Trauma'' and ''Good Morning America'' EP's. On May 29, 2009 the band released their 3rd album, an EP titled "Hatred for the State", on Shattered World Records. In late 2009, Alex Rager left the band and has been replaced by Craig Holloway. The band embarked on their first tour of Europe in November and December of 2010, playing 24 shows in 10 countries and supporting acts such as Wehrmacht, Pro Pain, Napalm Death, Blood For Blood, and Sick Of It All.

SUBMISSION HOLD - What Holds Back the Elephant (2004)

Submission Hold were a Vancouver-based Punk band active from 1993–2005. They were known for their unusual sound, once labeled "post-genre", which combines Hardcore Punk with elements of experimental and Eastern-European music. Submission Hold's lyrics often related to anarchist and feminist politics, but often with a more poetic and abstract quality than similar political bands. The band was also known for consistently maintaining and promoting a fierce DIY ethic, and in this respect were sometimes compared to Fugazi and the Dutch noise/punk band The Ex. Submission Hold were notable for helping introduce throughout the 1990s certain elements of European Anarcho-punk and Noise-punk to the North-American punk scene.
