HIBERNATION - Into The Silence Of Eternal Sorrow (2003)

Heavy and metallic crusty punk band from Greece. It's epic and monumental, dark and brooding, with some amazing pummeling drums and a good thick sound quality that when woven all together totally rocks. Dual male and female vocals top this off in the best way. It's kinda like a cross between Nausea, Doom and Amebix - and yet amped up faster and more metal and way more triumphant and pummeling if you know what I mean. It is dark and heavy with an apocalyyptic punk style accented with some underlying keyboards to add even more of a dark and brookding quality.

SCHOLASTIC DETH - Final Examiner (2004)

Scholastic Deth was a straight-edge thrashcore/powerviolence band from the San Francisco Bay area. They released 3 EPs (Shackle Me Not!, Revenge of the Nerds and Killed by School, all on the 625 Thrashcore label) and a tape before disbanding in 2002.
They had a sound which differed from many of their peers, which seemed to take a lot of qualities from old-school hardcore, creating fast, fun and positive music with a message. This message dealt with everything from skateboarding, the love of coffee and life as a nerd, to the lack of substance and political awareness in hardcore today.

ADVENT - Naked And Cold (2009)

Advent are about to release their sophomore album Naked And Cold on September 8th. "We are a band set on saying something that makes people feel uncomfortable. We don’t want to fit in with the crowd," says vocalist Joe Musten. "We speak out on issues and do it in such a way that it hurts a little bit. It stings. I guess that is what this is about. It’s not about being molded but breaking the mold." Provoked is an American female-fronted, black metal-influenced d-beat crust punk band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Spawned by a night of drunken banter and fueled ever since by booze and shit-talking, Provoked has been stinking up cities around the world for about 6 years now.
